$ING DOLLAR

Before Sunday, i wondered if i would be disappointed. I waited anxiously for the day to come. My first musical in Esplanade. My first musical since Secondary School days. Will it be a flop? Will it worth the money? But looking at the list of theatre casts, deep within my heart, i was expecting a great show ahead.

On Sunday, i was treated with an awesome show. Never did it let me down right from the beginning till the very end. I laughed, I tear, I was touched. Kudos to the eight greats - Lim Kay Siu, Sebastian Tan, Hossan Leong, Selena Tan, Emma Yong, Pam Oei, Kumar & Najip Ali. Lim Kay Siu may seems to be outshone by the other seven casts, his existence added colours to the show. Sebastian's voice wowed me since i last heard him in the national song 'Will You'. i was surprised to find out that he was the singer for the theme song for 'Price of Peace' (Ch 8 TV Drama). Dim Sum Dollies, Selena, Emma & Pam, was simply great as well. They started out as the three 'Lui' (Hokkien for Money) before transforming into Tiger Auntie, Chinese Prostitute & Philipino Maid/Prostitute respectively. I simply love their accent. They are hilarious.

Kumar, the Bangladeshi worker, was simply acting naturally, communicating with the audience and adding a new dimension to the show, Najip Ali, as Macik, was the first to touch my heart with his Malay rendition of "Keeping It Clean". But yet his small segment ended with laughter over his new-age dance move. Simply great. Did i miss out anyone? Oh yeah, Mr Hossan Leong. Hossan Leong was simply being himself, right from the beginning. I was like "hmm... ok, that is so Hossan". But he received one of the loudest applause when he impersonate Michael Jackson.

He re-acted the classic scene of Michael Jackson's Triller and dance moves. He was joined by the other guys who acted as the well-known criminals with financial fraud in Singapore. Together, they dance and sing. Its like a small tribute to Michael Jackson. Initially, i was laughing and impressed by the idea and the various characters. But soon, i found myself in tears. When i saw the scene of the 5 guys dancing to the song 'White Collar Criminal', i couldn't help but think that it was great to see so many talented artistes sharing the same stage. I even thought this will be the greatest National Day performance compared to NDP parade shows over the years. Its a show that speaks truely Singaporean language... reflects truly Singapore culture... this is home... TRULY...

It definitely worth the price tag. I will consider going back to the broadway if time, schedules permits... Especially if such a powerful casts were put together again...

Awaits for Results

My special term results was out... I managed only 2 Bs (B & B+). which is not what i aimed for... but i do expect this grade after failing to do my best in the papers. I aiming for As to pull up my CAP. Nevertheless, it wasn't too bad since overall CAP did move up by a little. Among my study group, i wasn't the best performer. This year, Lao Mao was the best again. Guess i will try harder this new semester.

Recently had been feeling tired. But today, despite my tiredness, i made my first attempt on Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake. Its non-bake. A modification from my original Lemon Cheesecake (New York Cheesecake) recipe. Now it is sitting inside the fridge. i am waiting patiently for the results of the cheesecake. The mixture taste sweet without much cheese taste. But seems a little watery. So will hope that it turns out well... =D No matter what, it is still going to be the third flavour i ever made for cheesecake.

Here are some of the photos before it enter the fridge:

Blueberry Beats Marble & Tiramisu

It had been weeks since i last posted. There are many thoughts running through my mind over the past few days. There are times when i was down... there are times when i was de-motivated... there are times when i felt that its time to let go... but of course, there are slightly happier times where i was encouraged somehow... now, i am still feeling in the middle of both sides... the happy and the sad...

I wasn't feeling OK for quite sometimes. Only a few would know the reason behind it. I guess, majority did not even know or bother to ask. Collegues definitely should be able to see my difference. If not, they just don't care about me. It doesn't help when i was agitated easily by people around me. Maybe all of us been through tough times, no one will be giving in to me, especially since no one knows about my feelings. Anyhow, i decided not to blog what makes me feel this way... but something on a happier note.

Had been having a good rest from studies since my exam over two weeks ago. I had some gatherings with friends, bought a mp3 over the weekend etc. Recently, i had been cracking my brains to get a farewell gift for a 3 friends of mine. Should i buy or should i make... until now, i had no idea if it will turn out well. Left one day before my 1st collegue going to leave the company. Well, i'll see how it goes. I still have 1 more day before the 2nd one leave... as for the 3rd, undecided if i should really do something for him.

Thanks Team H. This team praise my cheesecake and encourage me alot. of course, i had other friends who praise my cheesecake. But team H really go the extra mile by encouraging me to open a store focusing ONLY on cheesecake first. Make it big. Sadly speaking, i have mix reviews about my cheesecakes with some other friends. Guess, different people have different likings? So far, i am only capable of making OREO Cheesecake & Lemon cheesecake.

By Saturday, i will be able to make another new flavour. This time round, its by request from one of the Team H member who is going to leave the company. Blueberry Cheesecake. Initially, my plans is to learn Marble or Tiramisu. Marble is suppose to be easier while i face a big problem in finding Rum for Tiramisu. Hence, since my little brother requested the Blueberry. I will try to make my first and very own, Blueberry Swirl Cheesecake. Hopefully it works... =D

Week Round Up

My last paper of the special term fell on Monday (13/07). That was a sad and bad day for me... Speak about Monday blues... its all true. Woke up early in the morning, around 4am, to see my bro off to US. Then when i were off to woodlands to get free ride, i noticed that i left my stationary at home. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM~!

Thankfully, my friend had extra pen. I went into the exam with only 1 pen. Look confident isn't it? When i looked at the questions, i was dumbfounded. I was shocked at the weightage of the paper (though still contribute 50% to the overall grade). The questtions based on 100marks instead of 50marks, as from the past year's. The way the questions were asked were also different from the past year paper. That's not all...

Right before the start of the exam, i thought it was a good idea to look through past year paper to get a grasp on how the lecturer will ask. Unfortunately, it is another wrong step. While reading and answer one of the question of my paper, the article of the past year paper keep flashing through my mind. I'm confused with the facts of the two papers. I answered based on the facts of the past year paperr. Just for your information, this paper is some sort of an essay-question-type of paper. Hence, i mixed up with the facts.

And guess what, the second question were asked about a topic that i did not cover... YES~! THE ONLY TOPIC I DID NOT REVISE! No one to blame, i blame my own luck. But since this is an argumental, general questions. I am still able to answer but no longer confidence if i get what the lecturer wanted. Just pray for the best...

Other than that, i had a tired week over exercising. Yet my exercises are not tough... so i guess, i am weak. Having a small headache now... time to rest.. ciaoz

我喜欢。。。

Electrico Vs 陈伟联

On Friday evening, i found out that NDP 2009 song was out. I listened to both the chinese (就在这里) and the english (What Do You See?) version of the song. I feel that Electrico's version was more edgy compare to 伟联's. The vocal are strong and powerful... It reach out to the listener more...

Kelvin's, on the other hand, was soothing but lack of identity... it will sounds like past year's song but yet lack of the 'proud to be Singaporean' feel. Did not read the lyrics for both the songs. But at least once you listen, you understand what i mean... Its downloadable from NDP official website.

I had a great day out today, walking down and up of Orchard with my heavy bag (containing A LAPTOP). Its tiring but i think it will burn away the 'sins' i ate for dinner and supper. Healthier dinner from Subway, but 'supper' was Cappucino Cheesecake from Starbucks with dark Chocolate.. Ended the night with Himalayan (Frappe) Tea from McCafe.. At the very least, the cheesecake was delicious... thick and smooth texture... not too sweet, not too sour... you need to savour the taste slowly... but one is enough. You can't eat more... or you will definitely be sick of it... My bros (hao & wen) support my idea of opening my own cafe... I am happy with that... A target was even set for me... to open by the age of 35... I will aim at that... First, was to gather recipes and improve my skills...

I also visited Orchard Central with Jin... It was a messy arranged buildings without an anchor tenant. 8 storeys high with a open air balcony which can provide a good view of Orchard Road at night. The design theme was seem to be metallic, mechanical style. I personally feel that too much space was wasted on the design of the building... Shops was made smaller and the corridors are pretty squeezy to accomodate the design of the building. A large area of the building was used to build hotel-like lifts. Many unique restaurants and sports-related stores are opened there. It can get tiring over shopping a place full of female oriented merchandise and restaurants. One advice to all, visit it ONLY when its fully open. As you may not want to go the second time after your first visit. B2 is under renovation and many other empty space are yet to be filled in.

Orchard ION looks beautiful from the outside... but it seems an VERY EXPENSIVE place to shop. Big names filled the front and i do not expect the inside to be too cheap. I will wait for this to open.... Orchard Road are gearing up to fend off Marina IR as the shopping heaven....

i'm in love...

when i first saw you... you were unattractive...
when i first made contact with you... i had doubts about you...
when i first hold you... i am still unsure...
i am sure... it's not love at first sight...

i ponder... i wonder...
did i made the right decision...

i tried reading into you...
i tried to understand you...
And i decided to give it a try.

Maybe you are the one for me...
Maybe we could work it out...
i'll never know until i give it a try.

You seems dark from the outside...
yet you are pure from the inside...
You are may be plain and light...
but the more i know about you...
the more i fall for you...
My heart skip a beat at the very end of our contact...
i never had this feeling for a long time...
i know that i want you... i need you...

i know we cannot see each other always...
but i will try my best to go and get you again...

i love you...
my dear...

Meeting The Expert

Singing over two days is indeed an tiring affair. Limited song list of mine did not do me any favour. But still, i am glad that i accept the invitation and go and sing with them.

Due to personal reasons, Sito & Fabian haven't been feeling good for many days. Actually, Fabian did msn me about finding a day to meet up for ktv, just that i did not expect it to be so soon. *laugh* When he msn me hours ago, i was like... "erm... hmm... i sang yesterday, but don't mind sing with you guys'. Then off i went with the two 'singers'. How can i decline such a good offer... accompany my friends when down, plus having someone to fetch me.

I always feel Fabian is a good singer... His voice is different from the way he speak. When he sing, its really hard not to be emotional. He belted out numerous old but nice songs. Sito, on the other hand, sound better when he is being himself. When he sang, he tends to imitate the original singer. At times, it can get irritating. But still, he do have a good voice. When he sang upbeat numbers, its enjoyable. It really did...

"Singing session will be fun if you sing with all the good singers". I agree but how many friends of yours are good singers? For that question, Fabian say he can ask his friends who are better in singing to join us next time round. Part of me wanted to say "count me out" while another part of me say "why not". Those who know me well, will know that i don't mix with strangers or sing with strangers. I tend to shake and freak out... But eventually, i replied 'ok'. Maybe i wanted to open up a little bit of my circle since i used to think that "why aren't all my friend are good singer". Not that they aren't, but you will only improve if you keep singing with good singers. Maybe i can get some pointers from them. Anyway, its future plans... will not be happening so soon.

Nevertheless, i really enjoyed myself despite lacking of sleep, postponing of report writing and feeling tired. Looking forward to singing with them again, but for now... i need a break from singing soon... *laugh* and listen more music.
