Start Baking, Stop Unbaking

Many new bakery/cafe popping up at secluded places. This has inspire me to eat... I mean... learn to bake.

Not that i do not know how to bake. But to be someone good is totally another story. It has been quite sometimes since i last bake. Hence, why not?

The dream of opening a cafe or a small shop selling sweet treats is still burning inside. This will definitely be a good start, don't you agree?

First up, the revival of Saint Cinnamon!

i am . who . i am

"Be yourself, be who you wanna be!" This what i am telling myself.

Sometimes, we get lost in our direction in life. Who we are? What do we want? Where do we want to go? Why are we doing this? When to stop?

Yes, the 5 Ws. Who, What, Where, Where, Why. The basics of all questions.

We tend to change our way of living to be accepted by others. We tend to be confined to the frame of thinking in the perception of others. But after all, we don't live for others. Then, why change?

Let's be we are. Not stubbornly but positively. We change only when WE think that it will benefits us and for our own good.

Most importanrly, stay true to ourselves 'cos most importantly...

we are who we are, and

i am who i am

fresh iPhone 5 user

I finally gotten my iPhone 5 last Saturday and had been an active user since. Though this is my first iPhone, I am pretty familiar with majority of the functions of an iPhone. Of course, since this is iPhone 5 with IOS6, there are a few changes to the phone that most will need to adapt.

I would say iPhone definitely excites me with all the hype and stuff. Unfortunately, Singapore's network provider is not helping me enjoying what an iPhone should give. I am currently using M1 (previously known as Mobile 1) and had nothing but bad comments on the disappointing experience. LTE (an initialism of Long Term Evolution),which should be activated within hours, needed a week (so say the Customer Service officer through phone) to be activated. Hence, I need to make do with the usual 3G network, which is actually fine for me. What saddens me was the fact that the 3G network is getting worse and wherever i go, the network is poor. I had no idea whose fault it is, whether it is the handset or the network provider. M1 told my sister that LTE was activated for her number and if she is still experiencing lousy network, it is the handset issue, which is refering to the 1 week old iPhone 5.

I will observe the network tomorrow and if it is still weak... (weaker than 3G network) I shall give the M1 customer service officer a hard time. I am now relying on my wifi to send Whatsapp messages, get on Facebook, and play games. If local authorities happens to see my blog post, i really hope something can be done. Honestly, I had no idea where I can feedback to if M1 fails to provide their subscribers with minimum service.

Other than network, i only realise that iPhone 5 battery is not really long lasting as promoted. The battery charges pretty fast (20mins for almost 30%) but it drained fast as well, without LTE. Do share with me the experience if you are facing the same issue, or my handset (and maybe with my sis) was spoilt (together).

Ugly Singapore

Singapore may be a safe and green country that many can be proud of, unfortunately, this is not what Singapore is all about. We may get to see all the beautiful side of Singapore, there are more beneath the beautiful crust.

No, I am not trying to criticise Singapore or even "un-promote" the Lion City. I was in fact pretty sad and disappointed to see, with my own eyes, how bad the working adults behaves during the peak hour. They are mostly educated earning high pay in the Central Business District (CBD) area. How bad it is? Let's just say that the morning peak hour to work is more tedious than the evening peak hour when we are going home.

With all the Singapore Kindness Movement projects and advertisements going on, I am very sure that every one can and has a part to play. Will it kill by just slow down your movement a little and let the crowd in front of you to clear first? Will your world be affected if you delay for, say, 5minutes? Let's be honest, the crowd are going the direction with you, so I am sure you can get to your place and they are not really obstructing you. Maybe, they just delay your time to your destination.

Singapore will be a much better place to work in if everyone be less selfish. Don't 'guard' your place without moving in the train. Its all about Karma, what goes around comes around. Want people to treat you well and not obstruct you? Treat people the way you wanted to be treated first. Stop being self-centered. There are times when we are not noticing it that we are blocking people. If that is the case, we can spend a little bit of time looking at how we behave? I am sure we all wanted to be in a smooth and efficient life.

Let's work hard together, Singapore!

Week II

It is the 2nd week of my work and I am slowly adapting to the brand new working style. Sadly speaking, I am a slow learner. My recent health fatigues doesn't help much either. The people here are all pretty nice to me. I felt welcome here but of course, it also means an invisible stress piling up. Hope things went past smoothly!

FigureRobics Day III

好累哦!连续三天做FigureRobics!
是否有效,还是个未知数。
但确定的是全身都有在动!肌肉有点酸痛!哈哈!
不如,你们也试试看? =)

I had been doing FigureRobics for three days consecutively!
It is so tiring! Hopefully, it is effective!
I am having muscles ache! haha...

Why don't you give it a try too?! =)

Penang 槟城

After my last day at my previous company, a group of us went Penang that night! Cool huh?! Special thanks to Edward who allow us to stay in his place, be our chauffeur and tour guide! Amazing guy!

Penang is famous for their Laksa, but unfortunately, i don't like the prawn paste that was added. I only know after that that i can request not to put. Too late! haha... but nevertheless, i love their noodle. Nice noodle! Other than the laksa, we had many other food too! AMAZING & CHEAP FOOD! On our first morning, we had Dim Sum and man, it was definitely affordable. Now i know why there was such a long queue at the place, Restoran Chaw Choon. I have no complaints on their dim sum. The variety is there and my friend fell in love with the egg tarts. The food there is so good that we decided to have it on our last day before our flights! But since we had a long night, we dabao (takeaway) and have it at home! =)

We also visited the famous temples and the Toy Museum! YEAH! BUT! Unfortunately, the museum was a letdown. The toys are dusty and the museum are poorly organised. Lighting focused on the top level and bottom are too dark. The guy at the reception mention that they are going to move to another location, much larger space with better variety... price? it will increase a little from the current RM10 (Malaysian) & RM20 (Foreigner). Honestly, i do hope they consider a better way to showcase teh priceless toys that cross different generations! Many fond memories returned after looking at the toys. Angie is definitely one of the happier ones! haha

We are lucky that we are able to see street arts (murals) along the street of George Town. They were done by Ernest Zacharevic for George Town Arts Festival.

The art combines wall painting with real physical object. It is my first time seeing this kind of art. It amused me and definitely, the crowd puller. It is not hard to find them along Lebuh Armenian, Lebuh Cannon, Lebuh Ah Quee etc.
Just follow the crowd! haha.... The most famous one that you can see online EVERYWHERE is the art that show two kids on the bicycle. Simple, yet heartwarming. The scene also had a old wall beside it. Amazing combination, no wonder this was the MOST POPULAR one. If you are planning to go Penang, check them out!

Here are some shots by Edward:

p/s: i love the old old feel of the shots!

new job, new prospect

New job... New prospect and, definitely, New worries.

It's been a long time since i last blogged. As usual, i wanted to do it but i am plain lazy. Yes, i had changed a new job. *Claps* I will be starting work next Monday. Everything went smoothly for this job. Friend talked to me, recommended me to the job, i had an informal interview and... *ta-da* i got the job. Its been rather unreal for me as everything took place within two weeks and i resigned.

I now had worries. You may be asking, "why does it come now"? Alright, it is a little too late since i had signed the agreement and they issue an official appointment letter. I do had some minor worries before signing but as i feel that the prospect is better at the other place, and i have nothing to lose, why not? Now, my worries is due to the fact that my friend start to give me worrying statement. It is just some unrest in me. I have confidence that i can eventually overcome it!

So... Just do it!

There are still many questions to be answered when i start next week. Till then, i hope all my queries will be answered. One by one. =)

hazy sky

I wonder if it is due to the lunar 7th month (Hungry Ghost Festival) or is it due to burning of forest (yes, again!) in neighbouring countries, the sky today looks exceptionally hazier (if there is such a word) than other days.

Do take care and drinks lots of water~!
