my first visit

      It marks my first visit to the well-known Settler's Cafe @Central, yesterday. It was Dingze's idea as we had a small gathering, celebrating my buddy's birthday. Jianqiang, Weiliang & Jack form the rest of the party. They wore pretty former. Not bad looking... but feel we really grown up. My outfit was criticized though, so sad.

      The food was not bad, portion wasn't stingy. Not that expensive too... considering that it includes a main course, a soup, a drink and a dessert. We enjoy ourselves quite a bit with two board games, Cartagena & another that involves those Too-Too Train in US (couldn't remember the name). I won the former but not the latter. I am quite surprise that i actually learn the games that fast. But its about friendly play. Hence never use strategy even if it is supposed to be strategy games. *laugh*

      The games actually quite fun. Easy to play and good interactions. Hence, i don't mind visit that shop again to learn more games if i have a chance to lar... Most importantly is the company you went with. Must be fun loving. *laugh*

      Recently, i forced myself to train. But due to weather. 3 days training become 2. Not getting motivated for the exercising, i guess. But i managed to do my the other interests. Music & drawings. Recorded one song (though not that good yet) & drew a few anime/comics characters. Pretty fun. If only i have a scanner, i showcase the drawings to you guys. *laugh*

      Read the headlines? Yap, i went IPPT today. For me, its a trial as i wanted to know where my standard is after last year's test. And also, accompany my buddy take. It is really boring to take alone. As expected, i am happy for my buddy, Dingze. He passed the test. No more IPPT for him till next year. For me, as expected, i failed. But surprisingly, i did not flunk the test. Borderline failures. Honestly, it did spur me up a little to train for IPPT. Who knows, i may be able to take in camp and get some cash from the test. But first, more training for me.

      I failed 2 stations. Standing Broad Jump (SBJ) & Chin-up. Both are my weakest stations during army days since BMT. But the results shows that, i can improve further. But need more legs & arms exercise. Skipping ropes did help, i guess. If not, could have fail more badly for SBJ. More gyms & push-up for Chin-up. i only managed 3 f**k-up one. *laugh* But today, the highlight was the 2.4km & my shuttle-run. 2.4km was conducted on treadmill. I had to run constantly at a high speed in order to pass. I did it, but it was a little shag. I used to sprint only at last 100-200m. Never constantly run so fast before.

      As for shuttle-run, my specs flew out while sprinting back the last lap. Yet, i managed to grab hold of the 'flying specs' and finish off the run. Though pass, one of my worse run. But its funny, when thinking back. Hence, i am required to take IPPT again since i failed more than 2 static. Train harder, try harder next time... *laugh*

      Oh ya, finally get my singtel voucher today. Finally can go and get the phone i wanted soon. Now is to decide, whether i should get a new number or continue with my old one. New number easier, right?

Happy ORD Anniversary 2007~!

      Yesterday, 10th August is my ORD date, hence i went out with my Jaguar brothers for the annual gathering. Since 2005, we met every single year on this date. 2005, we gathered for the first time after we POP in 2004 and went on to different unit. Last year, we met up for the ORD dinner. It also marks the biggest platoon 2 gathering ever. We had Section 1, 2, 3 & 4 representatives. We enjoyed the dinner at Suntec. A pool outing followed but many had to return home.

      This year, 2007, it is the third time we meet. And officially the 1st ORD Anniversary Dinner. As usual, Section 1 is the main cast. Only 3 non-section 1 was invited. Section 3 IC Desmond, Section 4 IC Me & my section-mates Jonathan. Sadly, both had night lessons and could not join me. Hence, i became the betrayer of Section 4. But honestly, though i get along well with everyone in Platoon 2, it is Section 1 that i am most comfortable with. Maybe due to the fact that they are more outgoing & we can click well.

7 Section One & 1 Special One

      Since the section ICs always work together, GuanMing(S1), Desmond(S3) & I(S4) are pretty good friends. Short of one? yes, he s Jason(S2). He was an outcast among us, due to his character. Honestly, Section 2 contains the most number of people the platoon dislike. So he is just one of them, together with the more famous, Kirby. In short, Section 2 is an outcast section.

      Time flies. We all missed those army days. This group of friends are also the more garang ones, or i should put it as more 'on' ones... Those present last night includes the co-organisers TeeRong & WeeTeck, WenHui, Jiemin, TiongHuat & my darling, GuanMing... Do you know? my first kiss ended up on GuanMing, special thanks to TiongHuat~!!! its memorable though... All the fun we had in BMT. Don't worry, GuanMing has a stable girlfriend... i am just one of his many 'flings' which includes Desmond too.

      After yesterday dinner, we went for some dotA fun. Alright, i am the 2nd weakest since TR never play before. But all was fun. Its been a long time since we last went overseas in 2004. Hope that we could went overseas together again soon... But first... my HongKong trip in decemenber, *yeah~!*

      MY BODY IS ACHING~!! haha... but i had so much fun. Yesterday, I spent my day at Jurong East Entertainment Center (if it is called so lar). HangMing, WeiPing & me went to ice-skate & pool. Total enjoyment if ignoring the pain i get there. Had a few falls but i feel i improved a lot... and really a lot. The first and only time i went there was in 2001 where Shunli brought us, the studious gang then, there.

      It feels great to skate and this time round, there is confidence in me that i will fare pretty well. Indeed, i wasn't disappointed. Though i am not expert, but i really improve a lot. Hang Ming is a pro there (at least among three of us)... guiding us... encouraging us... and indeed WeiPing was great yesterday too. Learning how to skate pretty fast. The most important thing is... we enjoyed alot. The feeling you get when u are able to skate through the ice gracefully was superb.

      Looking forward to another time should we be free lar...

      Over at work, i am happy with my performance but yet a little sad overall. Happy, i received so-called an indirect praise from my boss. She exclaimed that "wow, you two did quite alot last night" is enough for me to feel happy. Alright, its does spur me on the next night shift. Sad, i noticed that my team members are not really team player, especially Hnin Ko. She is a nice person being a friend but maybe her thoughts of leaving the department had made her less motivated in work. Somehow i feel, her working attitude wasn't that good. CJ is still ok but not that much better. But at least i feel there is an improvement.

      Now, i am still considering the options for my studies too. APMI studying schedule doesn't seems to favor my character. As for NTU, the distance is the main concern. NUS, their cert was slightly weaker then NTU FT/PT and NUS FT. UniSIM, not recognised and still new. Another concern for me is, should i heed my friend advice and go for FT study, PT work? hmm, getting more concern with my future. My interest isn't in any of the prospective field, yet i had to get one of these degree to succeed my dreams. Now, time to hit back the books real soon before i begin my studies plan.

Hearty Paws won my heart

      These days, i managed to watch 2 movie. Both korean. One with Xinyi, another watching through pc. Who Slept With Her? A comedy with a little bit sexual contents but no sex, of course. But it is a little strange to watch with a lady for such a movie. I never thought that it would have turn out this way. Its a comedy but story was ok... but the lady was gorgeous & one of the guy actor was suave. The rest? cannot make it. Its a movie for you to let go... but end up, i am a little tense as many guys stuff revealed in the movie... *laugh* Too bad i couldn't have Nacho with Salsa sauce. I don't really like too cheesy stuff. *giggle* But overall, its a nice outing.

      Have you watched Hearty Paws? It is a Korean movie. A movie i rate A+. Honestly, its touching, heart-breaking type of movie. If you are those going for actions. This is not for you. Its more emotional kind of movie. I watched via pc and i really cry throughout the show. Its been a long time or should i say, never did i cry till so serious before... watching it the second time make it worse. The little actor & actress are great in their roles... Especially the doggy. Its really a great movie. I will strongly recommend you go watch via whichever means you can have.

Arsenal will rise

      With the departure of Patrick Viera, Arsenal groom another youngster sensation named Fabregas. I am sure that Arsenal will be able to go against all odds this season and finish Top 4, at least. Thanks, Sir Alex Ferguson for believing in Arsenal when some of their players do not trust their club. Today, Ljungberg confirmed his departure to London derby, West Ham.

      I do not expect him to stay after much speculation about him leaving. But i never expect him to eat his own words. Its pretty unprofessional to say so much, only after you secure a transfer. Freddie Ljungberg had mentioned recently that he will not leave the Gunners for another EPL clubs with respect to them. But today, he joined not only another EPL club... but another London club. So much so for respect. R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Its a real disappointment. Not because he left Arsenal, but because he went on to join a club he vow not to join. I used to hold a lot of respect for him. But today, all the respect is gone. I dislike him the way i dislike Ashley Cole. Another guy who badmouth Arsenal on his way out.

      Totally agree with Sir Alex Ferguson that Arsenal will definitely shine next season. Being an underdog, i am sure they will spurn out better performance. They relied too much on Henry. With Ljungberg gone, i believe next to leave Arsenal will be Gallas. He recently had voiced his unhappiness about the direction Arsenal is moving. Though i had to agree with him that Arsenal need a few big names, i had trust in Arsene Wenger. But its a growing concern that Arsenal could not lure big names to the club. Or... is Wenger even trying?

      This season, only 4 being signed. Keeper, Lukasz Fabianski along with Bakari Sagna, Harvard Nordtveit & Eduardo da Silva. The scale is unbalanced when Arsenal had let go 2 first team players (Henry, Ljunberg) & 7 reserves team. Now, the ball is back to Arsenal's court. Only them can prove the critics wrong and show those a**h*le who left Arsenal that Arsenal is better without them, go on and win a cup at least this season...

      I'm back. *laugh* After having a busy time at work over the week, i went for some fun with my bowling kakis... Jack & Dingze. Its fun... and been a few months since we last bowled. I keep track of our bowling scores. The record keeper of the 3...

      It wasn't a good day at the alley. Apart from mr Jack, both of us score pretty average results & the feel is no longer there. Can you imagine? i actually scared of bowling out my first few throw... Not enough sleep, fatigue or finger injuries are some excuses i gave myself for the poor showing. Lane affect our performance too? But Dingze finished off our 6-game match with a bang. Impressive as he was the better scorer since i start recording. Me? never get back my form since the Feb freak incident. Hope that my finger can recover soon. Will seek for help this Friday, most likely...

      After the competition ends, we spend our time at AMK eating the less-than-impressive-yet-expensive Sa Bo Fan. We shall not go to the place again or should say, shall not eat the item again. Too expensive for such a meal. AMK Hub's Cathay is now open and AMK is really crowded because of the night shows... AMK night time always have lots of people. Now the Hub make it more happening. We watched Invisible Targe. Watching good hunky cops dealing with martial arts robbers... Typical HongKong movie but not too bad as an entertainment. Reviews by Me @ Multiply.com

mistake

      When i thought that i am finally getting used to being a leader... leading a team... earning their cooperation... working as a team... i am now facing a little hurdle at work that the worst thing can happen is... sack or bad record in the company...

      Many thought that i am doing pretty well in the company... smooth sailing ride to promotions. But actually, it isn't that smooth. It isn't that rough compared to many though. I worked hard even not extremely hard. Being a leader, with the former leader still in the team & another member who joined the company with you, it takes time to win them over... Former leader cooperates well... the other just take a little longer... but they all understand my stand and now cooperating with me well...

      Last time, i am just a 2IC... my part is more simpler... a so-called double jump to be a leader... Its tough on my part. Lack of knowledge is obvious as days goes by... Now this incident... a mistake consider severe in the company policy. Hope my supervisor can save me this time round. But still may face the Asst. Manager tomorrow...

      07 07 07... Earth Live Day or so they called it... Many couples rushed to get married or registered today. A hot day indeed... Heard from my friends that their neighbourhood have malay couples getting married too. Love is in the air... for earth... for couples...

      Its my poly bro, Han Keong's ROM celebration day. He was real nervous, shy etc... It is in his blood, even on his big day... but honestly, happy for him. I guess i will feel more on his actual wedding day next year. Honored to be in his list of invitees. Only 3 of us from poly made it to the list. His reason? We gave him lots of memories... Aww... its touching for all 3 of us. As i did mention in my previous post, some of us actually had to make arrangement for his day. But anyway, we all made it there.

      I was asked to assist him as emcee but turn down, but Jannah helped him with the script after stating that she is not suitable for it due to some reason. Me? Ended as music director... haha no lar.. just music source. At first, i thought he put all his songs... but as the dinner goes, all my songs came up... he liked it... and i am so glad... i did something for him. But feel bad that i arrived late and couldn't helped him during the photos display...

      A night for 3 of us to chill out. Ris need some help for his work. Its a small part, i managed to get it done and 3 of us off for some catching up. Its been months... since 3 of us sit down and chat... Talked about poly days, Fbodz thingy... Honestly, Fbodz was great... its a dance club in NYP. Very popular there. Youtube.com have some great clips too... maybe if you interested, can take a look. Ris was the pioneer batch of Fbodz and he was the one who make the guys section popular... He was great too... Now? haha... never get to see him dance anymore... Fbodz evolved alot... Now even have Fbodz TV, its cool... Honestly, go watch it...

      Unfortunately... I received a not so nice news today, Tze Hee's dad was gone today. Less than a year after his mum's death... Real sad that i am on night shift today, will head down tomorrow... He is a good pal of mine during army days...

Double Movie Treats

     2 movies in a single day? That was what i got when i decided not to go for OT support despite the seductive OT rate (2 times). I never regret after that... I need rest too, i am human... haha... watched Transformer & Fantastic Four... Former is more interesting than the latter... (My Movie Reviews)

      Lido Shaw counter lady messed up what supposed to be a great start of my day. First mistake, she gave us 10pm show instead of the 10am show... After going back to change with her... The wrong cinema was given to the morning screening. Xinyi & I were stunned and thought its commercial when we entered the wrong cinema (its a chinese show)... But thankfully, the usher came in and asked us which show and redirect us to the correct cinema... Thanks, uncle... As for the auntie, TIME TO RETIRE~!!! haha...

      After that show, we went Novena Square's extension, Square 2, for a walk. Had the chocolate dip thingy, Fondue at Andersen's Ice Cream. Since only two of us, we go for the Couple Fondue. They are real stingy in terms of fruits etc. I could get more at Fairprice. Poor service, normal food make the outing a rather forgettable affairs. We sat down and chat about working experience. It maybe better if we could do the Fondue ourself but hey, its down right sinful...

      I wore my new cap today. The one that i bought with Kangwei. Looking into my wardrobe, i picked a matching color vest which i did not wear frequently. I wore another polo tee inside and its a decent two piece. The street-style jeans make the whole look pretty cool... Honestly, i fall for myself that very moment. Impressed with myself. But honestly, had to agree with Dingze... i do look pretty cheena and a little oldies... but hey, at most i look good right? Its a trial, as i may wore this outfit to HanKeong's ROM this coming SAT. Comments, anyone?
