Crossroad of Life
So far, i had approached a few friends. Some are more than willing to help, while others? Less help provided. In the end, i decided that i should not expect from those 'friends'. I am thankful to receive some referrals to some of the companines. NCS... ST Electronics (STE)... DSTA are some of the companies my friend helped. But unfortunately, the little background is the main hurdle. I couldn't find something suitable in NCS. DSTA had a position i am interested in, but... no news yet. STE is the only one that offer me interviews...
I went to three interviews in two departments in Info-Software. The interviews went well. I like the people i met, they seems to be genuine in giving me the opportunity to try out the job. I must be thankful and content with the interviews i went. To be honest, how many interviewers, who do not apply pressure on you, will you meet? I met 4 out of 5 in the three interviews. They gave me honest opinions, advice, suggestions etc. I really, really appreciate what they said. I also did give it a thought. It's amazing that i learnt a lot through these interviews!
Location is good, Benefits should be better than my job, Pay should be comparable, People are nice... the main issue? Job nature. As i am looking for a job in programming, this job i interviewed for is 40-60. 40% software, 60% hardware. I was actually quite against that idea, especially when all the questions asked in 1st interview were 'NO'. But after some talk to my friends and some thoughts, i am not totally against it.
A job that requires me to sit in the office for the whole day seems to be less attractive to a job where i need to move around. These interviews also let me see the change in me. I was someone who dislike presentation or talking to others in the past. Someone who will be shaking in front of interviewers. This time round, I am not that nervous, i seems to be quite ok when presenting and i am more open than the past. "It must be a positive change", i told myself. Now i will be waiting for the call or likely interview #3.
But at the same time, time for me to send out more applications. =)

亚洲の旅: 印度 | Asia Tour : India
There is a need for proper planning in every trip. Unfortunately, when we arrived in Mumbai, we could hardly find any informations available to us, tourist. But special thanks to HangMing, who put in lots of effort in making this trip works and keep pushing us in discussing where to go. He did most research for the trips while i did the least =).
As posted in my FB,
"If we failed to plan, we plan to fail.
He, who led us in planning, led us in exploring the unfamiliar, foreign terrains."
I strongly appreciate the efforts he put in. Of course, WeiPing did contribute too. Ok, I am just plain lazy. =x
We arrived Mumbai late and rested in the hotel for the night. The next morning, what caught my attention is the old buildings outside the balcony, outside our hotel. Yes, we arrived Mumbai. We couldn't stop our excitement and begin shooting photographs while waiting for our breakfast. The crows, the buildings, the sky... nothing can slipped out of our camera. *laugh* This is what happened when a group of photographers travel overseas. Don’t the building (image on the left) looks like some of the older flats we can find in Singapore?
Mumbai, to my surprise, was not as run-down nor was it prosperous as it appeared in TV shows or movie. (Remember MI:4?) It is common to see this kind of apartments (while Singapore named it 'flats') in Mumbai. We are definitely in for an amazing experience. Being the first time out of East & South East Asia, I look forward to the trip. Especially when we met with a couple of uncertainties before confirming this trip, this definitely be a good trip.
Crows are everywhere. They are like unconventional citizens of India. Making this statement is not trying to be sacarstic, this is just an observation, something i felt. The crows are not afraid of human either. In Singapore, we can often 'scare away' the crows easily. The pace in India are slow as well. The crows reflect this fact by flying rather slowly. Not exaggerating, we can see how crows fly and land, or even stay in the sky! Amazing, isn't it? That is a new experience, at least for me! =)
We stayed near Churchgate Station. Churchgate, a major railway termninus on the Western line of Mumbai Suburban Railway, was named after St. Thomas Cathedral. It is just minutes of walk from our hotel, Chateau Windsor Hotel, to the station. But the tickets to Aurangabad (our next destination) was not available in the station. Soon, we found out that we need to get the tickets in the ticketing office opposite the station....
To be continued...

Looking Back... 2o11
Looking at the resolutions for 2011, it is not hard to see that i had failed to fufil most of the resolutions i set. Here are those i set to acheive:
[ ] Learn 2 songs of different language (e.g Cantonese, Korean)
[ ] Learn at least 1 upbeat song.
[ ] Learn a musical instrument (hopefully piano)
[ ] Record at least 1 video (for youtube account: JWeeTV)
[ ] Aim for B+ and above for FYP
[ ] Take a set of photos on 'Donuts' (my flickr account: mini_donuts)
[X] Capture more captivating photos using my perception!
[X] Complete 3 short Marathons (Adidas Sundown, Nike & StandChart)
Short Wishlist:
[ ] Able to slim down
[X] Recover from my knee injuries
[X] Have a chance to perform?
Out of the 8 resolution and 3 wish items, i managed to do some of them. I had not learn any upbeat song or songs of foreign languages, though i am re-learning Burmese version of 'Open Arms' currently. I will be learning guitar from 2 shifu this year. JWeeTV had seen more videos of other local talents like Polkadots & Moonbeam. Though mini_donuts did not have much photos, i uploaded a few themed album onto my facebook channel. I don't like flickr as it only allow 200 most recent pics unless i upgrade my account. Hence, i will to Facebook. Oh i also did quite a number of marathons in 2011. This also means my legs are getting better. Great, isn't it?!
In my wishlist, i hope to slim down but in fact, i gained weight. Now i am trying to lose those pounds. Looks like more hardwork is needed. Thanks to Darryl, i got chances to perform in 2011. I also emceed for Guanjie and Wendy's wedding. Other than that I participated in a online singing competition but did not made it to the audition. Never mind, its for an experience. Not a great year (2011), hope things will get better!

blast x*mas
Christmas Day had always been a normal Public Holiday for me even if there was some X*mas exchange over the last few years. In the past, i would sms or send out my well wishes via Christmas card. This year, i did not send any card by post. There was only 4 person who had received my card this year.
Alright, i admit that for the past few years, i had my fair share of time sharing with my friends but this year, it had been kind of different. How different? More games! New experience! More fun!
+ More Games
We used to stick around for a meal, some gift exchange etc. This year, we had more than meals. With Angelina joining in, we had more 'manpower' for fun! Xin, Nat, Ber, Angel and me was in for Skipbo, Sabotuer, Pictionary (Chocolate edition) etc! Ooops, i lost track! But I remember had fun till late night. I am sure tired that day! Imagine playing SkipBo in the void deck at wee hours! haha...
+ New Experience
I boarded the Hippo Lights Up Tour Bus with Nat, Ber & Angel. This was my first time experience, though it could have been better. I prepared bubbles to create nice effect for photo shoot! BUT the rain had spoiled everything! But still we enjoy ourselves since it was the first "Rainy" Hippo Tour during X*mas countdown! Little do i know that the annual X*mas light-up competition is still on-going! Why didn't the newspaper covering in a larger scale? I missed the good old days where every mall is competiting for the honour! =(
Nevertheless, Hopes everyone enjoy their Christmas!

Crepe Birthday Cake
Though the cakes is a little dry and filling ('cos we had it after lunch), but i believe the effort is priceless. My first DIY cake from a friend. Hence, even though i am very full, i force myself to finish 2.5 slices of cake. Sad to say, this may be my first and only cake in 2011. Despite that, i am already thankful for whatever i have now. =)
