Me Time

I initially wanted to do a review for Le Cafe in Peace center, but decided to do a this post instead! haha...

Reason is I have no idea how to pronounce this Le word. Is it a Chinese word Le or is it french? But on its menu, there is nothing french or whatsoever...

The menu's cover reads " CHINESE Japanese CUISINE"... Hmm... I wonder...

Anyway, I am here to chill and relax while I wait for the movie to start.... Shall I draw or should I get back to photo editing? Tough tough decision! haha...

Let me think about it!

What I think about Licensing Regime

I just read "Petition for the immediate withdrawal of the Licensing Regime". Up to now, 151 blogs/website had been listed, staging the #freemyinternet black out.

When I saw the link was shared in Facebook, I wanted to find out more about it. I heard about this new 'Licensing Regime' on the TV news but do not know the details. I support freedom of speech. Freedom to read whatever we want, wherever we want. What is the point of reading controlled news or even 'edited' information? It will be a step backwards, to be like certain countries that actually control their news or history.

When I continue to read the petition page, I felt some parts were written with a little bit of biasing and tries to change the reader mindset. I became hesitant in signing the petition. I will prefer the page to be written as general as possible and let one decide whether he agree to sign the petition or not. But well, if I am the one starting the petition, I guess I will want people to support my act.

"Even though MDA said that blogs do not fall under the licensing scheme, this is not reflected in the wording of the legislation. It leaves the door open for blogs or any other site to be forced to license in the future without any change in the law." http://www.petitions24.com

I do agree with the above statement that if the law is written in the way it is (refer to the web or wherever you can find), bloggers are not exactly being protected. The law can actually used against any website easily when someone find them an eyesore. haha...

"Authorities have said that online news sites must also be subjected to the same kind of accountability and responsibility as "offline" news media. Authorities added that the new rules are not a clamp-down, as websites can continue as per normal because they are subjected to the same content standards as before.

Only 10 sites come under the new regime -- they mainly belong to the mainstream media." - CNA, 6 June 2013

Only time will tell if this 10 will increase rapidly over the next few months/years...

Love . Marathon (II)

...

After the run, we went to McDonald's for breakfast since there isn't much option left. Where can we find a place that opens 24hours and reachable by foot near Esplanade? Anyway, as I mentioned in previous post, we left around 5+ and reached around 6+.

You can imagine how tired I am. But thankfully my friend let me to reach home first! I think they understand that as for the first time, I did not wait for them to discuss and I 'insisted' of reaching home first. haha...

A few hours later, I woke up and prepare myself to head to the west. The place of my friend's wedding church. Since my wallet, shoes and barang barang is with my friend after the wedding dinner (Thanks WQ!), I actually went out with minimal items and simple clothes. haha... But of course, I am still wearing a presentable outfit!

My first time to a friend's church wedding. I think I went to my neighbour's when I was young. I can't remember how she looks like now! haha.... It is simple and sweet. =)

May both my friends had a blissful marriage and live happily forever... =)

Love . Marathon

It's my pleasure and honour to attend wedding of my friends.
But never had I ever thought I will do it so crazily~!!!! haha

Last Friday, after being 'enrolled' into the 'Ten Brothers' gang, I was invited to attend the wedding of my 'brother'. Initially, I was asked to be the emcee and was agreed that I will skip the morning session so that I could have ample rest for the night marathon. But some changes to the arrangement, and I became part of the brothers of the wedding and will not be needed as an emcee. Sad? A little since I will not be able to complete my #10 soon. But I respect the fact that the one took over is from the wedding singing group. Professional, of course. Hence, it turn out to be an tiring but eventful day.

Morning session ended around afternoon, about 2+pm. I was one of the drivers that day as well. It is not an easy job for someone who is lacking of sleep that week. I had been working till late night for 2 consecutive days and could only sleep at 3+am prior to the wedding day. Testing my body limit, huh?! haha. Due to lack of time, I drove to and fro, to send my other 'brothers' and groom's parent to the hotel. But thankfully, I got some time to nap before the event began at 6+, 7pm.

I was stoning whenever I sat at the table. haha. I managed to go off after the newly wed went around to take photos with the guests. I needed to run off since these people try to stop me from going for Sundown Marathon and wanted me to stay on to drink with them! haha... Not that I don't want to stay, I don't want to 'fly aeroplane' since I hate people doing it, especially I am the one who get people to run this time round.

Sundown Marathon began at 11.30pm. My first 21Km marathon. I must say that I was not in the right condition to run. I could feel my heart is having a burden for me to run. In the end, I walked for more than 11Km. It was a great experience! Completing with two of my running Kakis together! Timing is no longer important. We completed within our 4h target anyway!

The run ended with a breakfast and by the time I reached home, it is 6+am! Imagine that! haha...

Project 3.0

Recently, I tweeted with a hash tag #JWProject30. What is that?

#JWProject30 refers to JarWee Project 3.0.

But what is it exactly about? I have no idea! haha... To be honest, there is no concrete plan yet. This idea came to me when I was doing my night run. I felt tired. I felt that something needs to be done. I wanted to make some changes to what I am doing. A short project could do me good.

Hence, I decided to start this Project 3.0. I will try to define what I wanted to achieve by the time I reach 30. Yes, to be honest, it is going to be in less than two years time. First thing came to my mind is to do a studio photo shoot, something I always wanted to do but have not done. 30 years old seems to be a good milestone for a person's life. To do the shoot, I must slim down and shaped up. 65kg will be target and I aims to lose at least a kilo per month!

Other than physical/looks, I decided that it is time to stop dreaming. I am likely to stop going to vocal lessons or even dreaming about performing. I would rather shift my focus on learning an instrument. Let's face it, I will not get famous anyway! haha...

I have many interests on hand. Opening a cafe is one of my dream, a more realistic dream. It is going to be costly, but at least if I work hard, it will be fulfilled. I will also try to come up with a plan in improving my bakery skills. First up, will be learning to make macarons.

Recently, I also started a new food blog, critic's critic (temporary name). Though it is not considered as professional, I did it my way. No restriction. No obligation. No guidelines. But I will not hold back to criticise any place that s**ks! haha... Look out for more reviews!

I am always proud of my still photography. When I mean still, it means things that doesn't move... e.g. food, flowers etc. But yesterday, I did a casual pre-wedding/couple photo shoot for my friends. With my friend's camera (with kit lens) and my amateur photography skills, we had a fun shoot. Hope it turns out well! =)

Anway, Project 3.0 will not be just the way I look. I aims to improve in many aspect of my life and skills. Hope you guys give me full encouragement and support! =) Thanks in advance! =)

Recap: KH & YL Wedding

Waking up early for my friend's wedding can be tough, imagine we are tired just by flying back from Japan via HongKong. I had never thought that flying back can be so tiring. The seats aren't that comfy! We took Cathay Pacific airline back. I was so tired that I actually sleep through the meal time when we flying to Hong Kong. Of course, I made sure I was fully awake to eat on the HK flight to Singapore. haha!
The Brothers in arms
It was a great weather for wedding and I am glad I made my way back for the wedding. Apart from seeing our good friend getting married, it is like a reunion for the rest of us. Among the brothers are my good friends in army days. I think I have not see Jx for like at least 4 years? Its great that the rapport among the brothers still existed. This is verified during the dinner time when we are tasked to do different things and yet covering/assisting each other during the dinner.

Garden Themed Photo Booth
I think I mentioned before that I am tasked in preparing the candy booth, photo booth during the cocktail. I am feeling a little stress out before the event. Since we went Japan for a week, I have no idea what is the status of the stuff for the booths. I received information that nothing much had changed, so I carry on my task as per my last impression.

Dwarfs checked. Flowers checked. Garden Wall checked. Photo stand checked. Gates checked. Photos? eh... Never mind, I began setting up the table... shall wait for KH's comment on the photos. It turned out good and I am so glad that we had a dry run at his place before setting up here. Minor problems was solved. Issues were taken care of. There you go, the photo booth all set up!

Candy Booth
Up next, the candy booth. This is where the hiccups began. haha... Firstly, the bottles are not seen anywhere. Then, I forgot about borrowing 3-tiers plate from my friend. Next the booth seems pretty empty after setting up. Thankfully, we kept calm and solved each problems one by one.

We requested from the hotel some plates for decorations. The plates is what I wished they could provide. Some minor changes made to make the booth less boring and it turned out to be great! My little DIY stuff I bought or brought along did help me to get my job done much easily.

Before the wedding, I am feeling a little disappointed why KH did not choose me to be his emcee and yet pay someone else to do it. (They are not even professional emcee!) But soon I realised on that day itself that he did make a good decision. Not that I am claiming much credit, since the success depended on every individual one of us, I find myself in the middle of getting things done. This of course, does not include the sister's roles.

last minute Heart decoration
Maybe due to the fact that I attended more wedding and helped out more than any one of the rest of the brothers, I am more experience. Hence, I am around offering advice and instructions and get the job done. We realised that nothing much was done by the official PIC. Not to fault him, since he is someone out of the brothers' circle of friends. He is groom's friend. Just that, IF I was made the emcee of the night, I may not be free to settle other issues.

I must say that the success depends on the sisters and brothers effort. On the brothers' side, I really amazed that we worked like we have been working together for years. As if we are seeing each other day in, day out for a long time. It definitely helps when we trust each other to do our part and trust whoever is giving the instructions. I am very emotional when I think back what happened that day.

I never know that I miss them so dearly. It is almost impossible for 11 of us to be back together at the same time in a single event! I guess I finally realised the statement we always hear... "True friendship can withstand the toughness of time". I'm sure our friendship will not die even though we have differences. We are the real brothers!

Time for Japan

Finally, after days of discussion and planning... Its time to fly... *Hooray*

As promised, I brought my teddy along! :) tada! Meet TT. Oh yea, finally decided on his name. After pondering for a while, I told myself... "Why so troublesome? Just give it a simple name"... There you go... First 'T' represent Ted, the second T shared my last name. :)
