meaningful day

Went for a hair cut in the morning... @ EC House... rather short now... but will adapt to it de... look like BMTC abit... haha... but not too bad lar... *think positively*

i had spent my day rather meaningful... After the haircut... i return home for a shower before heading down to Ave 10... Went there to help Liying with her NIE maths... its been a long time since i last touch maths... haha... because of her... i wasn't able to play games, watch tv, eat, sit, sleep... haha... Okay lar... i am not complaining lar... i try to help if i could lar...

Went to meet the rest at Suntec Food Fair even though i didn't go in... We went to Marina Sq's bowling alley... The renovated place look spacious... Currently, only a few stores opened... But we left the alley as it was crowded hence we changed venue to SAFRA Mount Faber... another newly opened SAFRA... Official Opening dates is this or next week...

After that, went AMK Central & Junction8 and look a gift for her friend's birthday... In the end, i saw a lot of stuff i like... haha.. But i controlled myself since i spent quite alot... recently... might stay at home for next few weeks... see how...

Noticed that i gain lots of weight over the months in 2004~2005... much shed the kilos soon... or i will not be able to wear my favorite clothes... or look good haha... Plans needed to start real soon...

Many things i wanna do... but i done very little... i wanted to create a website... i wanna re-publish the Braddell Cookery Book... i wanna compiled the two Braddell Concert 98 & 99... Wah seh... must start on one of them real soon... i guess i'll start with Losing Weight Program...

SGD100 2D1N TRIP

Went overseas with TeckHui, Dingze, Weiliang & Edwin on Good Friday... Destination? Johor... original plans was to KL but unfortunately, time does not permits... and no tour fit into our plans... amendments were made and... there we are... Johor Bahru... Too bad, LeeChang & Terence were not able to make it... Just SGD100 we enjoyed the whole trip... The only cons got to be the waiting time over at the Malaysia's Checkpoint & the rain today which pratically flood the roadside & we all were semi-drenched...

:: Accomodation ~
Grand Continental Hotel was a four star hotel... but with relatively cheap rate... 5 of us shared a room and cost < SGD20 per person... Breakfast Buffet for 3 were provided... though the food wasn't that good or variety wasn't that much... The atmosphere was great... Inside the room... everything was nice... comfortable... We chit chat till 3am before we lights off... Got to know each other better haha... We woke up around 8-9am and still feel refresh... They had a swimming pool... and the water was co~~Ld.... we didn't really swan like i did in Singapore... but we enjoyed and have fun playing with the icy cold water... i freeze like hell...

:: Shop Shop Shop ~
Holiday Plaza, Plaza Pelangi and, last but not least, City Square.... We had the tendancy to spend alot... not for one items... but we just fall in love for many of it... but of course, we tried to restrict ourselves... Imagine a Converse shoe sold in SGD40 in Singapore was sold SGD20+? Clothes could go as low as $9 for one nice one that cost $20 in Singapore... Definitely a place to go... All the Plazas sold cheap VCDs, CDs, DVDs & even games like its so commonly seen... Holiday Plaza was prefered... due to the distance from Causeway, its relatively cheaper... i restricted myself to buy 2 tops oni... next time i went there... i will comb down all stores... and buy lots... haha...

:: Eat Like Rich Ass ~
Over the two days... we ate nice food... When we reached JB and checked in... we went to Vivo@Plaza Pelangi for Spagetti, Pizza... I had Cookies drink and it taste nice... all prices are simply affordable... as i could only get half the quantity if i bought it in Singapore... Dinner was 4 dishes from a roadside Restaurant near Holiday Plaza... Food was nice too... We had deer meat & frog legs...

:: Singing OR Eating ~
We decided to go to their popular KTV outlet, Redbox for some Karaoke session... Its look like KBox but their service was top notch... Although the price was slightly higher than Partyworld... two drinks per person & a Buffet till 10pm was included... and we ended up getting lots of food.. haha... just after dinner, mind you... Me & Teck Hui help the rest to get food... and we return with both hands full of food... Guess what? The personel there politely ask where is our room and opens the door for us... Knocking the door before opening it... Oh ya... it took 3 person just to guide us to our room... one at every corner... smiling and guide us politely... 5 star treatment we felt... when we finally begin singing, we always wonder... are we having dinner or are we singing there... haha... Great place, Great Service... loved to be there again...

UIP ends

UIP came to an end after the 2D1N exercise, including a turnout in wee hours... it wasn't as tought as we all expected but still tiring enough... haha... It was pretty fun if not for the tireness... enjoyed it and had improved our coordination and timing... now we had cut the timing from 49 to 39mins within a day... just 9mins from the expected timing... The end of UIP also marks the inclusion of us in the Trunk Family... We had our Beret now... Hurray!

Reached home around 10+pm after some food and shopping @ Jurong Point... And was surprised to receive a call from Eugene & Jonathan... my two pals who are in Police Academy as NSPI... I might sound rather tired or 'hoarse'... haha... sorry... but really nice talking to them... kinda miss them... haha... not eugene of course... haha.. ok joking... Don't feel tired chatting with them...

Tomorrow will be having Company outing @ East Coast Park... but they give us half day off while eating into our leave... for half day... idiot... who say we wanna go?!!! Just hope we enjoyed there... my first outing with the Trunk Family & my platoon mates...

unexpected encounter

*stretch* Decided to blog while doing my 3 drawings of RID half way... Feeling like i am back to school or SI... hmm... but its at least not a difficult job...

Bought 3 CDs over this weekend from Sembawang Music & Chinatown... Li Shen Jie, Blue's & S Club's Greatest hits... All sounded nice... Especially Blue's... an album that i considered for many months... Worth the dollars... haha.. $6.90 but its China's Imported though... With Chinese translated lyrics... haha...

Guess who i saw? Choon Siong & Rachel... haha... i noticed Rachel first before i saw Choon... Same old look... nerdy geek look with a hunch back... Never say hi or anything... Hope they didn't see me... haha... They don't seem to notice me... anyway...

Terence's bowling wasn't that bad... had played with Dingze before, so i know his standard... Other players including Ashton, Edwin, TeckHui while LeeChang looks on... It was all fun and laughters... We are the noisiest lane i think... haha... Didn't bowl that well... but... ok lar... its been months since i last bowled... erm... last year? haha...

Alright... gotta get back to the drawings before booking in for the FINAL phase of UIP... Ganbate Everyone!!!!!!

small fish big fish

This week is the official week where we are seperated into 3 nodes... and i am glad that i remains in Trunk 2 Coy with Dingze as my partner... When i heard the posting, i was delighted but still something in my heart have doubts...

I had always asked myself... would i rather be a big fish in a small tank or a small fish in a big tank ?... This question had always be in my mind whenever i had to choose where to head to... But in the end, i always wanted to be in the Big tank even there was once i was in a small tank... and emerge as one of the largest fish... confused? haha...

Now that i am in the big tank... i felt uneasy at times... i felt like puppet with no much influence as platoon IC... yes... the IC remains unchange... i am still the IC...

Never had i regretted to be in TCC2, its my decision and to be placed there... a big rock was removed from my heart... Even if my fitness & skill requires improvement... i am willing to work hard... in fact our timing to complete the task had improved alot and coordination improved... even the DS said we did pretty fast for setting up in the night phase for first timer....

i am sure that we will... and i will improve till we beat the 30 mins timing... maybe aims for 17mins? the record? haha...

dim sum @ harbourfront

Yesterday, went to dim sum buffet with alot of people... Food not so bad... price worth it... but excessive of prawns in the dim sum making us feel a little sick of it... but overall, wasn't that bad... the best gotta be their sago dessert... nice... After that, we headed down to the IT Show in Suntec but did not get anything there... Very crowded at Suntec... doesn't really like that kind of crowd... human traffic far too slow...

After the IT Show, we all stucked at one place where we had nothing else to do... getting bored over the fact that Kang suggested shopping... In the end... Kek & KokHong went back IT Show, Terence & Weiliang went to their relatives gathering, Kang & Edwin went to Bugis while me and JianXin went home straight... Went to get some sweets for camp at Compass Point... before receiving call from JianXin... Suggesting that we head down Clarke Quay to meet HanJun for a drink or two...

We met up there and had a couple of drinks.... Jack joined us too... In the end, 5 of us (including HanJun's gf) sat at Cafe Iguana enjoying ourselves... Chat, joke and tasted a few drinks & food... the service there was pretty good... plus nice food... Definitely a place to go... oh ya... nice music too... It was well situated along the Singapore River... Nice...

In minutes time will be heading back camp... 2nd week of Official UIP... i will do my best... i WILL survive....

not Berrynice

Booked out of camp today and had dinner at McDonald in Jurong Point... Tried out their new stuff... Tempura Chicken Burger & Berrynice Crunchy Yoghurt... but end up rather disappointed... Their burger was soso... nothing special... as i think the sauce was a little stingy... while the yoghurt was not as nice as those sold in Supermarket... maybe it just taste a little more fresh? with fruits like frozen strawberry... hmm... i would never eat Mac's Yoghurt again...

UIP wasn't tough this week... i should say that it wasn't as bad as i had thought... Yes, some parts of me are tired or almost worn out... but its still managable... like the running made me tired but didn't kill me... i could still run even if we had running in a few consecutives day... Yesterday, i took the so-called IPPT Trial... I managed to do 6 half-f**k standard chin ups... which is an improvement over my BMT's 5... and consider that its the FIRST IPPT since last September...

Eventually i still failed due to running... haha... Surprise? Alot people are... not familiar with the route and as usual, i ran last few in my platoon... as i nag all the way to the finishing line... haha... i think people like Kok Hong, Sean, Teck Hui or even John would hate me... haha... i didn't expect to pass as i see no point in passing this test... since its just a trial... i might as well use it to help others to train...

On the same day, i volunteered to be the platoon IC... Surprise again? Why would i volunteered? i had to in fact... with no one volunteering while 2LT Wu was asking for a new IC... A lot of SGTs were around too... all looking angry over some matters... So i had volunteered... Of course, i wasn't that good myself... had some hiccups... but i keep trying to change... with comments from platoon mates... i will continue to improve till the next IC was chosen...

Now resting myself... Unsure why i suddenly lose my voice when i woke up... luckily still managed to give commands... Hope i never tarnish my NPCC & BMTC-Jaguar's reputations...

great old times

Yesterday, i went beach rd to buy some essential 8 packs' items with a group of people... Terence, LeeChang, ChangCai, KokHong, TeckHui, Cannon and met Kelvin, Niklas & Jin there... oh ya... and Siang too... After the shopping... 5 of us walked to Funan IT Mall via Bugis... A pretty long walk with the hot Sun hanging in the sky... but its ok... i love sun... haha...

While sticking the ziploc bags... with a layer of BIG scotch tape... i noticed that i forgotten to get for JiuHsian a pack of small-size ziploc... later will go to Hougang and take a look... Let's hope i could find some there... A little lost in terms on the size of ziploc to use since i tried to use 2LT Tang's standard...

At night, met up with my polymates... consisting Jocelyn, Jeremy, Jun Hao & Wen, Jian Long & Jenson... hey... the J-team... 6 of them... with Aris doing his duty... i was still quite unsure whether meeting them is a good idea... i do miss them and wanna catch up with them... but still... whether i would be comfortable there... since we long time never met up... my uneasiness was soon proven unnecessary.... we had a nice chat... looking at the past, the present and a little future...

Its heart-warming to be there... and you soon felt so at home... with all those familiar smiles, joker & their jokes... haha... time flies... and we all grown up compared to first time when we were in the same class... haha... Had a great time together in Mr Bean's Cafe @ ParkLane... but their attitude & service was atrocious and unforgiveable... Unlikely to go there again...

After the chat, Jocelyn went to her boyfriend's table... while the rest of us, in wee hours, went to play Billard & Pool @ FarEast... The twins drove their dad's car, Jenson driving his Bro's while Jeremy driving his scramble (wonder if i spell correctly)... All of them had license... even Jian Long has it... I am the only one who never get a civilian license... Hmm... maybe after my NS life...

Emerald

! You are most like An Emerald !
Caring, giving and very emotional. You're the person
people turn to with a problem. You worry about everybody,
and genuinely want to help - a little too much sometimes.
As an emerald, you tend to take a more backseat to
the other gems, but your inner beauty soon captivates those
who take the time to get to know you.
Congratulations ...
You're the selfless gem everybody needs as a friend.

March

UIP finally began on Thursday after much delay... largely due to the awaiting of the specialists... Before they came, we were invovled in all different kinds of sai gang, 'shit job' in english... Once they were here, the UIP training truly begun...

Tee Rong, my Jaguar platoon-mates was in the specs... haha.. was pretty happy to see him again... last met him during the Genting Trip... That was like 5-6 months ago... nice seeing him... and heard that he was 2nd Bayonet... which means 3rd in the platoon... like John, Best Trainee... They did Jaguar Platoon 2 proud... unlike me... haha... struggling...

Some thought i was one of the better one in my current CSO platoon... but... i was struggling while the rest are relaxed there... So when it came to the selection on which Node to be in... i was pretty afraid of not getting what i want... and who i wanted to be with... worst still, i had not even gone to any of the 2 interviews...

The physical training is tough but still managable... but just feeling tired and disappointed with the lack of discipline in my bunk... not to say some of my platoon mates... The bunk i am in now, was such a big different from J02S04... i totally miss them... yes, they slack sometimes... but they cooperate and perform their duties to, at least, meet the requirement of BMT... I have no problem being their Section IC... as for this bunk... i am still pondering what i am going to do...

Feeling slightly better after chatting to DingZe in the MRT and with Jack around during our dinner at Jurong Point... But still more weeks to come... and the D-Day of my NS lifespan... will be arriving soon...
