I found this Guitar chords over the net for Na Ying's (那英) classic "夢醒了" and wanted to try on Ukelele. But not today! haha... The key for this song might be too high for me so I actually looking for the other version sang by the composer.

Appearing on MV - The Haha Song (by Bevlyn Khoo)

Wow! Still remember the MV i mentioned previously that I participated in? After participating in Sherman's MV (I never really show my face lar), I finally appear in another MV that did show my face for a few seconds! haha... Here you go, Bevlyn Khoo's The Haha Song.

Honesly, I said this over many many times but i guess never enough. Thanks to this MV & Bevlyn, I met LollyTalk boss and he approached me to be his ambassador! =) Cool Right? I KNOW! Hence, this MV mean alot to me even it is not my song! haha....

I had fun doing the shoot and imagine the whole MV took only one day of shooting! Good job to the people behind the scene... Sorry since I only know some of the crew but not the company, I am not able to credit them as much as they deserve! Anyway, hope u guys support the song and local music! Simply amazing. I love the voice... the sound of violin... and specially the part where the violin took the stage and vocal was harmonising... AMAZING!

Lyrical Ideas

It is amazing how one can draw inspirations from daily life. Inspiration or ideas can just pop out from any where. What makes the difference is whether one can grasp it, see it... if he did, he may be able to make something out of it. Else, it simply diminished and nothing could be felt.

These days of in ICT, I got many ideas to pen some lyrics. Everything is still vague and nothing is concrete. Not entirely sure if it will works but I just not wish to forget it. Hence, I tried to record it down. I often thought music comes before words but I was thought otherwise. It can be lyrics that exist first before music or vice versa, melody may just flow out in mood, without any words.

For now, I have a melody to work on from Donald (though he doesn't remember it anymore). His idea for the song is very different from what I penned. Therefore, it did not work out then. The melody was inspired by A-Lin's song. I felt differently when I listened to the song.

Apart from that tune, I had 5 ideas in my bag on lyrical portion. Most, if not all, came from my personal experience or thoughts. Only one was inspired by a certain short film I watched days ago.

Though unsure about the final outcome, one thing for sure, I am enjoying the process so far... let the rest flow on its own, naturally... =)

我就是爱唱歌 (I just wanna sing) 的评语已经出来了。虽然还有很多人的录像还没接受批评指教，我知道应该不会是我晋级了。说实在的，看两位评审给的评语，我不禁会有些懊恼。他们给的评语感觉上似乎对我没有很大的帮助。朋友所给的评语比这两位‘专业’评审还来得详细，有建设性。当然，他们的评语不是错的，所点到的也是我一直都知道的问题所在。但失望总会有的吧，因为他们没提到唱歌反面的问题如tone, pitch之类的。

进期我参加了新加坡一个新的唱歌比赛“我就是爱唱歌”。若被选中，便会在这个周末，也就是今天和明天进行赛选活动。我应该已经落选了。于是我便打算上载竞选影片到Youtube.com让大家批评指教。这是我第一次参加比赛，希望大家会喜欢我的诠释。

落选心情当然会有些失望，但绝不气馁。因为我知道自己根本还没达到专业标准。周围的朋友个个比我强，而我很庆幸有一群不管怎样都会支持我的朋友。借此机会想答谢他们：

完美之旅

Event: Urban Legends: the perfect journey | 完美之旅

完美之旅 ｜ the perfect journey is a collection of original compositions (music/lyrics) by singer-songwriter Juliet Pang 冯欣慧. Music for her is a wonderful medium for a storyteller, and each song that writes her stories and those about whom she holds closely to her heart, adds a new color to her creative palette.

She would like to invite you to the launch of this full-length debut album, as she closes a long chapter of this season in ...her life, only to embark on the next adventure.

The concept and making of this album, offered opportunities for her to undertake production, arrangement independently, of which 4 of her originals had been fully arranged and recorded in her humble 'studio'. of which, 'hey you' is an intimate acoustic number written out of a loss of words for the sudden departure of many this year, many too young, too soon. she looks forward to sharing these raw bits of her with you.

Finally, this album though completely and ironically 'independent', is truly a collective effort and contribution of dear friends who have generously shared their time, amazing talents, and most importantly their hearts. they are these stories.

Polkadot + Moonbeam: Hari Raya Special

Presenting their duo sparkle in Singapore for the first time, Polkadot + Moonbeam ( Juliet Pang + Didi Mudigdo ) will share their original compositions as well as new arrangements of familiar tunes on Hari Raya on keys, ukulele and bass. Juliet Pang will also share a sneak preview into her originals to be released in her upcoming debut album in Dec 2010.

Didi Mudigdo, based in Sydney, is a jazz singer/pianist who’s done some globetrotting especially in Asia, happily sharing his love for jazz music whilst enjoying the colorful cultures in various countries including Jakarta, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Japan (Sapporo Jazz Festival) etc. A wonderful musician and recording artiste, Didi has released 3 cds till date and also recorded with other artistes, including TJ Eckleberg, and Debra Blacquire.Juliet Pang, is a local singer-songwriter, fascinated with jazz, folk, stories and everything organic. She is the familiar voice on Eating Air’s Theme Song, 《痴风》, on 《冲着你来》 (100.3FM), and “Smile (Charles Chaplin), her latest single release on Absolute Voices, a collection of jazz vocalists. She is also the lyricist behind the COMPASS award-winning song, 《被风吹过的夏天》, a happy collaboration with local singer/songwriter/pop artiste, JJLin. 韋禮安

      Recently, i had been exposed to many new singer and one of the many that caught my eyes (or ears) is 韋禮安. A rather new singer on the block and his '有沒有' sounds simple but trust me, its not that easy as it seems when you sing in KTV. This song is a song you will love once you hear it. Hebe(S.H.E) did a good job in one of the variety show in Taiwan too.
      Other songs that caught my attentions are '慢慢等' & '因為愛'. Definitely a singer to look out for... and will go and listen to more of his songs... If you are bored with the chinese market nowadays, listen to him may spur some interest and hope in chinese music scene. =D

Ms Sun Ho

      If you guys know me well, i will give every singer a chance to showcase their vocal to me... No matter how anti i am to the singer... lol... Today, i listened to two songs by one of the singer i hate... or should say disliked... Sun Ho - Ho Yeow Sun... This two songs was pretty nice and soothing... her vocal wise... still ok... listenable... you guys may be interested in listening to them... Her latest album titled track, Yong Bao (Hugging) & Chun Tian De Wei Xiao (Smile of Spring)... Trust me, i am a music critic ok... haha..

      Finally get my pay, what i deserved for the hard work i put in last month... the long hours... and everything... going for a 4 day rest next... after tonight shift... so its time for me to relax awhile... Can't wait to see Mr Bean's movie next MON... oh yeah...

      UniSIM's website put that they will reply by late May... so maybe i shall just wait.. since i couldn't do anything whether i am accepted or not... so... wait then... Just hope that things go smoothly...
